Fulham to welcome back Schurrle for Leicester’s visit
Claudio Ranieri has confirmed Andre Schurrle is available for Fulham’s home match with Leicester City on Wednesday night.
Germany international Schurrle, who arrived at Craven Cottage on a two-year loan in the summer, missed the 2-0 defeat to former employers Chelsea with an unspecified knock but is back in contention for the visit of the Foxes.
However, Ranieri, who is set to take charge of his third match at the helm, has revealed Floyd Ayite picked up a groin strain against the Blues and will not be available.
‘Ayite has a little problem with his groin and is not with us,’ he said at a press conference. ‘Coming back is Schurrle who’s ready to play.’
Calum Chambers is expected to continue in the heart of midfield after impressing in recent weeks, with Ranieri adding: ‘I believe he is a very good midfielder, he’s intelligent tactically, which is good for the team, and it’s good for me to have this kind of player.
‘He linked the defensive line and the forwards very well. He has good movement, he’s very attentive.’
