Chris Solly back from suspension for Charlton
Chris Solly will return from suspension for Charlton’s Sky Bet League One clash against promotion rivals Sunderland.
The defender was sent off for two yellow cards in the 2-1 defeat at Barnsley last weekend and missed the New Year’s Day win over Walsall as a result.
Club captain Jason Pearce was also absent as the Addicks got back to winning ways against the Saddlers because of an ankle injury and the defender is set to be sidelined for a number of weeks.
Midfielder Ben Reeves is a doubt after picking up a knock on Tuesday, meaning Darren Pratley could be restored to the starting line-up, while manager Lee Bowyer has revealed he is hoping to add two unnamed players to his squad before the Sunderland clash.
Sunderland will be without the suspended Lee Cattermole for their trip to the Valley.
The midfielder collected his 10th booking of the season in the New Year’s Day win at Blackpool so is set to miss the Black Cats’ next two matches.
Club captain and fellow midfielder George Honeyman will definitely miss out as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury, and he is likely to be unavailable to face Luton next weekend as well.
Wales right-back Adam Matthews is still struggling with a calf issue and is doubtful but forward Duncan Watmore will be pushing for a starting berth.
