Henderson to miss Fulham clash
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson will miss the trip to Fulham on Sunday but Naby Keita is expected to return.
Henderson suffered an ankle injury in the midweek Champions League victory over Bayern Munich and boss Jurgen Klopp has ruled him out of the clash at Craven Cottage.
It means Fabinho will come back into the side, having initially been rested against Bayern only to come on early as Henderson’s replacement.
Fellow midfielder Keita will be assessed after missing the trip to Germany with a minor injury but he’s expected to be fit.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remains a couple of weeks away from full fitness after recovering from his serious knee injury, while Joe Gomez is still out with a leg problem.
The Reds can return to the top of the table with a win over Scott Parker’s side as leaders Manchester City are in FA Cup action instead this week but Klopp is wary of the Londoners, especially as Parker has only recently taken over.
He said: ‘Fulham has a difficult season obviously, but since Scott is in you can see the change, it is really kind of a breath of fresh air.
They lost the two games against Chelsea, which is a difficult one for all teams in the league obviously, and Leicester with a new manager there.
‘But they were pretty impressive.
That’s all in our books, that’s all we know of that and now we have to make sure that we are really spot on from the first second and hopefully we can win that game.’
