Latest injury blows limit Howe options
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe’s defensive options look limited as he prepares for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Brighton.
The Cherries head into the weekend 13th in the table, but have last 10 of their last 11 away games in the league.
Despite Howe’s best efforts to insist otherwise, their focus appears to have wavered.
Injuries have hurt their cause and Steve Cook (groin) remains in rehabilitation along with long-term absentees Andrew Surman (calf), Simon Francis and Lewis Cook (both knee).
Defender Charlie Daniels has been ruled out for the rest of the season following knee surgery, while left-back Diego Rico is also not available after sustaining an ankle injury during last weekend’s 3-1 defeat by Burnley.
Adam Smith, himself having only recently returned to fitness, will feature at left-back on Saturday as Bournemouth go looking for just their second ever win at the Amex.
