Palace stretched at the back after Tomkins blow
Crystal Palace’s defensive options have been further stretched ahead of the visit of Manchester City after an injury to James Tomkins.
The defender is set to miss the remainder of the season following groin surgery and Scott Dann is set to come into the backline for the visit of City.
Mamadou Sakho also remains unavailable as he continues to recover from knee surgery and Dann is likely to partner Martin Kelly in the heart of defence.
After edging closer to safety with last weekend’s 1-0 win at Newcastle, Roy Hodgson may opt for the attacking approach that served his side well in beating City 3-2 at the Etihad in December.
That means Jeffrey Schlupp and Andros Townsend could start out wide, with Wilfried Zaha and Michy Batshuayi through the middle.
