Barnes was shown a red card during the 1-1 draw at Yeovil on Easter Monday, so starts a three-match ban.

With Rene Gilmartin carrying a knee problem, 22-year-old Ethan Ross could deputise, while Bailey Vose has been recalled from his loan spell at Dartford as cover.

Left-back Kane Vincent-Young will be assessed on an abdominal problem.

The U’s, two points off the play-offs, will also be missing captain Luke Prosser (knee) plus midfielders Harry Pell (hamstring) and Brandon Comley (knee).
