Charlton striker Vetokele struggling to make League One play-off final
Charlton’s Igor Vetokele remains a significant doubt for Sunday’s League One play-off final against Sunderland.
The striker is struggling with a thigh injury and is therefore expected to miss out, with Lyle Taylor and Josh Parker set to lead the line.
Ben Reeves’ recent return to training means Lee Bowyer otherwise has a fully-fit squad from which to choose.
Midfielder Chris Solly is also pushing to start after featuring as a substitute in the play-off semi-final against Doncaster.
Sunderland manager Jack Ross could have winger Aiden McGeady back to face the Addicks following a foot injury.
McGeady has been out for four games, including both legs of the play-off semi-final win over Portsmouth, and has not featured since the Black Cats’ final home game of the regular season, a 1-1 draw against Pompey.
The winger suffered the injury at Accrington in early April and then, having been set to return for the semi-final first leg against Portsmouth, was forced to pull out following the warm-up.
Fellow forward Duncan Watmore has not played since mid-March after suffering an ankle injury, although he was on the bench at Fratton Park last week and could be an option for Ross.
