Tottenham v Bournemouth Team News
Tottenham will be without defender Ben Davies for the visit of Bournemouth on Saturday.
Davies sustained an ankle injury in the 3-2 win at West Ham in the previous round of Premier League fixtures.
The club have confirmed Davies faces an “extended period” on the sidelines.
Keeper Hugo Lloris remains a long-term absentee as he continues his recovery from an elbow injury.
Fellow stopper Michel Vorm and forward Erik Lamela are Spurs’ other absentees with respective calf and hamstring problems.
Manager Jose Mourinho could be tempted to make a few changes to the side that beat Olympiacos 4-2 in the Champions League in midweek.
Fit-again Tanguy Ndombele is pushing for his first start under the new boss, meaning either Harry Winks or Eric Dier could drop to the bench.
Jan Vertonghen will also be hoping for a recall after being left on the bench against the Greek outfit.
Bournemouth are missing striker Josh King due to a hamstring problem but fellow forward Dominic Solanke is available after recovering from a similar injury.
The Cherries also have concerns over winger Ryan Fraser due to a dead leg and at this stage, he is rated as a doubt, while Simon Francis and Philip Billing are both suspended.
The Cherries go into the game seeking to end a two-match losing run after defeats to Newcastle and Wolves, while Spurs will bid to make it three wins in three since Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino in the hot seat.
Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has been linked with the likes of Everton, West Ham and Arsenal of late but he says he doesn’t allow speculation to distract either himself or his players from the task in hand.
He said: “I always say if I’m linked, or my players are linked, with other clubs then that has to be flattering, it has to be viewed as a good thing.
“But I spend no time focusing on those things. All week has been preparing for Tottenham.”
