Liverpool v Manchester United

Liverpool will have to try and end a bad run against rivals Man Utd without key figure Sadio Mane, who misses out through injury.

The Merseysiders have failed to win any of their last six Premier League meetings against United and go into Saturday's early kick-off with just one league win in their last four matches.

Former Southampton ace Mane is the latest player to be added to Liverpool's injury list, having suffered a hamstring problem on international duty with Senegal.

Jurgen Klopp is still without Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne, but he should have his two Brazilian stars available. Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino are expected to start, despite the long-distance travelling they have down whilst on international duty.

Despite their recent inconsistent form, the hosts do have an impressive record at Anfield, having lost just one of their last 14 home games in all competitions.

United meanwhile, are also without a first-team squad player – Marouane Fellaini – having suffered a knee ligament injury during the World Cup Qualifying matches.

The Belgian joins Paul Pogba on the sidelines, whilst Jose Mourinho also has a doubt over the fitness of Michael Carrick. The club captain has a calf problem and faces a late fitness test.

Mourinho though has been boosted by the news that Phil Jones is fit to feature at Anfield, following a knee issue and the England international is expected to partner either Eric Bailly or Chris Smalling in the heart of defence.

A win for the visitors would give United a record Premier League points tally (22) after eight matches, while Romelu Lukaku could become the first United player to score eight goals in his first eight league games.
