Crawley Town 1-0 Norwich City
League Two Crawley Town secured a huge upset as they defeated Premier League Norwich City 1-0 in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The hosts drafted in Michael Luyambula, Ollie Palmer and David Sesay as their three changes to the side who win at Leyton Orient last Saturday.
Canaries head coach Daniel Farke changed all eleven players from the team who lost to Chelsea at the weekend, with Patrick Roberts, Adam Idah, Ralf Fahrmann, Christoph Zimmerman and Ibrahim Amadou among those handed starts.
And it was City who started the better, having several attempts on goal in the opening few minutes, with Philip Heise causing Crawley plenty of problems.
Fifteen minutes in Heise saw his header from a Sam Byram delivery saved by Luyambula, before Town stunned their Premier League opponents by breaking the deadlock two minutes later.
Bez Lubala exchanges passes with Nathan Robertson from a corner, before his shot took a decisive deflection to find the back of the net.
Norwich responded with Heise and Mario Vrancic having shots blocked, before they were forced to make a change as Timm Klose was forced off due to an injury.
Roberts then saw an effort stay out after striking an upright, as Town remained in front up to the interval.
Early in the second half City brought on Emiliano Buendia in a bid to try and turn their fortunes around and he soon made an impact as he hit the crossbar with a left-foot shot.
Vrancic and Idah also threatened as the Premier League side went in search of an equaliser, while Palmer almost gave Town the cushion of a second goal.
However, one proved to be enough as the Canaries had their wings clipped and crashed out of the competition.
