Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 Bournemouth

Match Report

Dele Alli scored twice as Tottenham’s revival under Jose Mourinho continued with a 3-2 win over Bournemouth in north London.

Spurs now have three wins in as many games under Mourinho after grabbing all three points against the Cherries at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Bournemouth did start brightly and they managed to create the first real chance of the game as Arnaut Groeneveld forced Spurs keeper Paulo Gazzaniga into an early save before Callum Wilson headed over the bar on 11 minutes.

After a slow start, Spurs began to threaten and Son Heung-min fired wide when well placed. The South Korean then showed great vision to pick out Alli on 21 minutes and the midfielder made no mistake as he fired a first-time effort into the Bournemouth goal.

Harry Kane nearly doubled Spurs’ advantage but was denied by a fine Aaron Ramsdale save as the hosts had to settle for a 1-0 lead at the break.

Alli grabbed his second soon after the restart after latching on to a Toby Alderweireld delivery. The England international expertly controlled the ball before dispatching his effort beyond Ramsdale.

Spurs looked to be out of sight with just over 20 minutes to play when Moussa Sissoko rifled home a volley at the far post from a Son delivery but Bournemouth nearly pulled off an unlikely comeback.

Harry Wilson gave the visitors hope with a sublime free-kick on 73 minutes and then grabbed a scrappy second late on in injury time.

Bournemouth could have scrambled home an equaliser late on but Spurs managed to clear and claim a deserved win.
