Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Match Reports, Updated:
Blackburn scored twice in the last 10 minutes to claim a 2-1 win against 10-man Spurs and boost their Premier League survival hopes.
Robbie Keane had put the visitors ahead on the half-hour mark after Gael Givet handled Aaron Lennon's cross in the area. The ball didn't appear to have been placed on the spot but Keane stepped up to drive the ball low past former team-mate Paul Robinson.
Spurs were comfortable but were down to 10 men in the 81st minute, Wilson Palacios seeing red after being booked twice in quick succession for fouls on David Dunn. Rovers capitalised almost immediately, defender-turned-striker Christopher Samba finding Benni McCarthy who turned the ball past Heurelho Gomes.
Blackburn had the upper hand and scored the winner in the 89th minute. Poor defending allowed El Hadji Diouf's corner to reach Andre Ooijer and the substitute slotted the ball home from close range to secure a vital win.
