Crystal Palace 0-3 Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield summer signing Steve Mounie scored twice as the newly-promoted Terriers secured a 3-0 victory at Crystal Palace.

The visitors, playing their first ever match in the Premier League, made the brighter start and went ahead after 23 minutes when Joel Ward inadvertently bundled the ball into his own goal.

Mounie, a club-record capture from Montpellier, opened his account with a headed effort soon after as Huddersfield went into the break with a two-goal advantage.

Palace did improve after the break and Christian Benteke saw a headed effort well saved by visiting keeper Jonas Lossl 10 minutes after the restart.

The Eagles began to throw caution to the wind as the game progressed but Mounie's second with 12 minutes to play ended any chance of a fight back from the home side.
