Hull City 0-1 Birmingham City

Birmingham condemned Hull to another defeat to put an end to their away day blues with a narrow victory at the KC Stadium.

The visitors edged the first half with Hull keeper Boaz Myhill making fine saves from Lee Bowyer and Christian Benitez, but neither side could make the breakthrough and it was goalless at half-time.

The crucial strike came in the 75th minute, substitute Garry O'Connor heading Keith Fahey's corner past Myhill to score Birmingham's third goal of the season.

Hull finished the game strongly, Bernard Mendy hitting the bar and having his follow-up cleared off the line, but the Tigers slip into the bottom three while Birmingham move up to 11th in the table.
