Lucas Perez netted a brace for his first Arsenal goals as the Gunners eased past Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Granit Xhaka and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also netted for the visitors as Nicklas Bendtner's reunion with Arsenal failed to produce the fireworks he would have relished.
Arsene Wenger rung the changes from the team that beat Hull City on Saturday but it didn't stop Arsenal from maintaining their free-scoring form on the road.
Having scored a thunderbolt for his first Arsenal goal on Saturday, Swiss international Xhaka's stunning 30-yard strike gave hide side the lead on 23 minutes.
It remained that way until the hour mark when Perez slotted home from the penalty spot after Chuba Akpom had been bundled off the ball inside the box.
Spaniard Perez doubled his tally 19 minutes from time, taking a pass from Akpom and showing good strength to hold off the attentions of Michael Mancienne before rounding the goalkeeper and slotting into an unguarded net.
Forest rarely threatened at the other end and both manager's made changes as the game drifted towards an inevitable conclusion.
In stoppage time, Perez was involved again as he slid the ball through for Oxlade-Chamberlain who finished coolly to cap a good nights work for Arsenal.
