West Ham United 2-0 Hull City
Match Reports, Updated:
Goals from David Di Michele and Carlton Cole mark a convincing West Ham performance to sink Hull to their sixth straight league defeat.
Close range finishes from the strike partners either side of half-time earned the three points for the East Londoners who cruised to victory at Upton Park.
Mark Noble should have put the Hammers ahead from the penalty spot after 20 minutes but debutant keeper Matt Duke pulled off a fine save to deny the midfielder.
Italian loanee forward Di Michele had already seen a curling effort come back off the bar but he made no mistake in turning home Cole's deflected strike from inside the six-yard box on 32 minutes.
Jack Collison also saw a strike come back off the woodwork before Cole netted his sixth goal in six games when Di Michele's fizzing drive struck the post and fell kindly into the path of the twenty-five-year-old to double the tally.
