Boro chief looks to play down Toffees loss

Aitor Karanka was not too down beat about Middlesbrough's 3-1 defeat at Everton as he is focused on beating teams in 'our league'.
The Boro boss watched as the Toffees stormed back from falling behind to a 21st-minute own goal from Maarten Stekelenburg at Goodison Park on Saturday evening as the Teessiders were 3-1 down by half time.
Karanka's men managed to keep the hosts out for the second half, but ultimately slipped to a second successive defeat which leaves the side in 13th position on five points from as many games.
And, while the Spanish tactician is looking for Boro to win every game they play in the Premier League, he sees his side in another league within the top flight where they will be looking to pick up points against those teams he feels are on a similar level.
"I don't think our league is Everton. For sure we are going to beat teams at the top of the table because I don't want to say we will lose to the teams at the top or give them three points as a present," Karanka said.
"We are going to compete for every single point but we have to be honest and we have to be fair and Everton is not our league. Our league was last week - Crystal Palace, West Brom, Sunderland and, though I didn't think at the beginning, Stoke.
"We have to keep calm, remember where we were last season, the squad we have and to see that Everton had to play their best to beat us."
