Boro want winger

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka is set join the race to sign Hull ace Robert Snodgrass, but faces tough competition for his services.

Karanka is set to have some wiggle room in his wage budget after the departure of David Nugent to Derby and the expected exit of Stewart Downing, and he wants to add Snodgrass to his side.

Hull are keen to keep Snodgrass and have already turned down one offer of £3million from West Ham, with reports claiming they have upped their offer to £5m for the 29-year-old.

The Tigers did recently trigger a one-year contract extension but that has not stopped interest in the Scotland star and his refusal to commit himself to the KCOM Stadium has alerted several other Premier League clubs.
