Mowbray: I'll do it my way

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has insisted he has to do his job his own way.

Mowbray has found himself in the firing line in recent weeks after Boro's hopes of securing a return to the Barclays Premier League at the fourth attempt wilted and died.

Mowbray told the Northern Echo: "I watch Sky Sports News 24/7, so it doesn't matter to me what's said about you. You need a thick skin, that's what you need.

"If you are going to fail in management, then fail in your own way. If you're going to be successful, you do it the way you want to do it.

"Everybody has got an opinion - you have got one, the next guy too.

"If you get swayed too much by other people's opinions, you will have regrets, so I think - do football management your way and build the team you can."
