£12m striker bid mooted

Newcastle are reported to have launched a £12million bid to sign striker Wilfried Bony from Vitesse Arnhem.
Toon boss Alan Pardew has made finding a new striker one of his top priorities this summer and he has long been linked with a move for Bony, who is also attracting interest from Swansea and Everton.
The 24-year-old was a revelation in the Dutch top flight last season when firing home 31 goals but he is now keen to try his luck in England and would no doubt jump at the chance of a move to St James' Park.
However the fee could be the stumbling block as Vitesse are reported to be holding out for £15million and that could stretch the Magpies a little bit too far.
That could make Anzhi Makhachkala favourites to land the player as the Russian side would have no problem meeting Vitesse's valuation and would also be able to offer the player a bumper deal.
