Lascelles has not played since November 4 when he injured his ankle in the 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at St James' Park.
The club captain is still working hard with the medical team as he tries to recover before the busy period of fixtures around Christmas.
Newcastle were sixth in the table when Lascelles got injured and the centre-back is determined to help them rebuild upon his return while he also admits getting into the England set-up is a personal ambition further down the line.
He told the Match of the Day Magazine: "I’d like to take this club as high as I can first and foremost, and then for me, individually, a call-up (for England) would be nice.
"I’m still young, and I’ll always keep listening, keep learning, and hopefully a call-up can happen.
"As a kid, I could never have dreamed of lifting a trophy, especially for a club like this. That’s probably one of the biggest moments of my life. Since then things have been going pretty well for me personally. I had a little dip with my injury, but I’ll be back out soon."
