Jose hails family atmosphere at Brighton
Jose Izquierdo says the Brighton dressing room is benefitting from the family feel generated around the club.
The Colombian joined from Club Brugge last summer and has spent most of the time living alone due to his family being back in his homeland.
It means the Seagulls have had to be there to support him and Izquierdo has often praised the help he has received from the staff.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s trip to Cardiff, the 26-year-old admitted he has grown close to a number of his team-mates, while also praising the kindness he has received from the people of Brighton.
He told the club’s website: ‘It’s a special dressing room for me. It’s not just about football, there are a lot of people in the dressing room that I can consider as family.
‘I’m happy here and my team-mates are nice people. There are so many egos in other dressing rooms and it’s difficult to manage that, but the team-mates here are very good.
‘Brighton is a nice city and I like it. It has everything and the people are also very nice.
‘When people stop you to say hello and ask for a picture, it makes you proud that you’re working good and the people know that.’
