Bailly waiting on fitness news
Eric Bailly was on Friday expected to learn if his injury curse has struck yet again following a scan on his calf.
The Manchester United central defender was still in discomfort following Wednesday’s 2-2 home draw with Arsenal, which already had him playing through the pain barrier.
Bailly was determined to make himself available to Jose Mourinho despite being sidelined recently with a leg injury, putting in a battling display against the Gunners.
However, it’s believed Bailly finished the game in pain and United’s medical staff are taking no chances with the powerful 24-year-old, who has been plagued by a series of niggles ever since his £25m arrival from Villarreal two seasons ago.
Mourinho is already down to the defensive bare bones in his squad and will be hoping Bailly has avoided yet another injury lay-off, with Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof already sidelined.
Reports have suggested Bailly is ready to ask for a move away next summer and knows his manager has been constantly frustrated by his lack of overall availability.
