Dyche opens the door to Heaton exit despite no concrete offers
Sean Dyche claims there have been no meaningful approaches for Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton ahead of the January transfer window.
The Clarets boss spoke out about the future of the 32-year-old England international, who has fallen down the pecking order at Turf Moor since suffering a serious shoulder injury last season.
Heaton is yet to play a single minute of Premier League football this season and he has been restricted to just three outings across all competitions.
Nick Pope and Joe Hart have seemingly relegated him to third choice in the squad which has resulted in speculation that Championship sides, such as Aston Villa and Leeds, want to sign him next month.
However, while Dyche has revealed that no club has made a serious attempt to negotiate a January swoop, he would not completely rule out a departure for Heaton.
‘There’s a possible chance [he could leave],’ he told reporters. ‘Joe’s done well on the whole but we have conceded a lot of goals. Tom’s right in the thick of it and pushing constantly because of the top-class pro that he is.’
