Ngoma: I feel sorry for George Lebese at Downs

Mamelodi Sundowns forward Aubrey Ngoma says he can understand the frustration of George Lebese at not getting any game-time in 2018/19. Lebese has struggled for playing time at Sundowns since arriving from Kaizer Chiefs in August of 2017. In 2018/19 he has not played a single minute in any competition and has expressed a desire to move away from the Brazilians in the January transfer window, be it permanently or on loan. Ngoma is in a similar situation for the Downs as he is also not a regular for the Pitso Mosimane-coached outfit. He said: ‘It’s quality all round at Sundowns. We’ve got enough depth in each position in the team. ‘It won’t be easy for any other player. You can feel for him when he said he wants to leave. It has been difficult for him to break into the team. ‘Also, he is a quality player and I know he has a strong mind, and he will overcome the situation. ‘I’m sure the coaches have a headache in picking who to play for every match. But we understand that at Sundowns it is a team that wants to compete in every competition. ‘We want to win all the trophies, that’s why you see us with a big number like this season. It goes down to the players making it difficult for the coaches to select. ‘We always give our best at training and coaches prefer who they believe is capable of delivering for that particular match. ‘We’ve seen a couple of games he has been rotating players, resting others, to freshen the squad, and I think that will do good for the team.’
