Defender set for Spurs call
Tottenham will test Manchester United’s new-found form on Sunday at Wembley and Jan Vertonghen could feature in the match.
The centre-back has been out of the side with a thigh injury but is thought to have recovered enough at least for a place on the bench as Tottenham’s injury worries appear to have eased.
Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele are back in training, though the latter looks to have played his last game for the club as a move to China edges towards completion.
Lucas Moura missed the home win over Chelsea on Tuesday night in the League Cup with a knee complaint and will be assessed, while Victor Wanyama is out.
Defender Ben Davies may come into the side that defeated Chelsea in place of Danny Rose in what may be Mauricio Pochettino’s only change.
Spurs have won their last three home matches with United and will be looking to keep the pressure on the top two in the Premier League with victory on Sunday.
