Waters returns to Cheltenham
Billy Waters has returned to Cheltenham on a loan deal from Northampton, the Robins have announced.
The forward, who scored 27 goals in 71 appearances during his first spell with the club, has joined on a deal until the end of the season.
Waters joined Northampton, then in League One, for an undisclosed fee in 2017 but scored just two goals in 32 league appearances for the Cobblers.
‘I’m absolutely buzzing. It feels really good to be back,’ Waters told Cheltenham’s website.
‘I can’t wait to get going again. I had a sense of coming home when I drove into Cheltenham this morning.
‘There was other interest but when this one came up I just thought, ‘yes, that’s the one’. I got a few butterflies in the stomach and it’s really nice to be back.’
