Hysaj considering Napoli exit
Elseid Hysaj is happy at Napoli but could be tempted into a move away from the club this month, according to his agent.
Albania international Hysaj was a regular feature during his first three seasons at the Stadio San Paolo, although he has been less of a fixture in Carlo Ancelotti’s side this term.
That has led to speculation that Hysaj could leave the club this month, with Premier League giants Chelsea, who are managed by former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri, reportedly showing an interest.
The 24-year-old’s agent, Mario Giuffredi, has revealed that a move to Stamford Bridge may be something that interests his client, although he has also held talks with Ancelotti, who appears to see him as part of Napoli’s first-team plans.
‘I had a meeting for about four hours with Ancelotti and (Napoli director of sport Cristiano) Giuntoli this week,’ Giuffredi told Rai Sport.
‘The important thing is hearing that Ancelotti respects Hysaj. He confirmed his faith in him. Of course, the January transfer window is always to be evaluated and there has been talk of Chelsea, for example.
‘If there are situations that are mutually advantageous, then we’d evaluate them. If nothing happens in January, then we’ll discuss a contract extension.’
