Silva welcomes Monaco move
Adrien Silva is delighted to have joined Monaco after securing a deadline-day loan move from Leicester City.
Silva endured a tough spell with the Foxes, managing just 14 Premier League appearances in an 18-month spell at the King Power Stadium. The Portugal international had slipped way down the pecking order under boss Claude Puel and made just five appearances this season, two in the league, before securing his switch to Monaco. ‘I am very happy to join AS Monaco,’ said the midfielder. ‘I look forward to meeting my team-mates and doing my best to help the club reverse the situation.’ Monaco are second from bottom in Ligue 1, three points adrift of safety, and general manager Vadim Vasilyev hopes Silva can help them move clear of danger. “Adrien Silva is an experienced player who, by his level of play, will allow us to boost our midfield,’ he said. ‘His state of mind and his game intelligence will help the team to achieve our goal.”
