Go-karting trip could be the tonic needed – Cairney

Tom Cairney believes a bonding session could be exactly what Fulham need in their quest for survival.

Fulham remain seven points from safety after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester United and time is running out for the Cottagers to survive with just 12 Premier League matches remaining.

Claudio Ranieri’s men are not in action until February 22 when they travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United, and Scotland international Cairney has mentioned the possibility of a team-building exercise during the time off.

‘There’s a belief but the feeling in the dressing room after games is low,’ he was quoted as saying by the Standard.

‘It’s hard picking everyone up all the time, it is difficult. Only wins can change that. We need it sooner than later.

‘We’ve got a little break now between games, so it starts at the training ground.

Maybe we need a team meal or a team bonding session, go-karting or something like that to get away from football and change things up.

‘There are no plans but I’m just chucking up ideas because I think sometimes you can get bogged down.

There’s only so much running and tactics you can do, it’s about getting fresh minds and team morale.

There’s not too much pressure: pressure is a privilege.’
