Preston’s Sean Maguire has urged his side to continue their momentum at the weekend against Millwall.

The Deepdalers are up to 11th after a run of seven unbeaten and a potential play-off finish has even been mentioned, with them currently nine points adrift of the top six.

Saturday’s trip to Millwall starts a run of tough games, with in-form Bristol city, local rivals Blackburn and promotion-chasing Middlesbrough on the horizon.

Maguire grabbed his first goal of the season in last week’s 3-1 win over Norwich and, with him starting to find his form, the Irishman is keen to ensure his side do not drop off against the dangerous Lions.

‘It is all about building momentum in this league and the last seven games we have been unbeaten,’ he said.

‘The last week has been a big week for us, getting seven points from three games, and it is the first time this season we are looking up the table, rather than down.

‘We are looking to keep this unbeaten run going, continue this form and confidence is getting higher and higher in the group – and on a personal level as well – and we will look to the Millwall game hoping to gain another three points.’
