Ramos might regret actions – De Jong
Frenkie de Jong feels Sergio Ramos will be made to look silly for his deliberate yellow card if Ajax knock Real Madrid out of Europe.
Real beat the Eredivisie giants 2-1 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on February 13 but Ramos fell foul of the authorities ‘for clearly receiving a yellow card on purpose’.
The Spain defender fouled Kasper Dolberg in the 89th minute with Real 2-1 up, meaning he is suspended for the last-16 second leg but Uefa have added another game to his sanction after deeming it an illegal action.
Los Blancos are still strong favourites to progress but Ajax‘s de Jong, who will move to Barcelona next season, hopes the incident comes back to haunt Ramos.
‘Maybe Sergio Ramos will regret it if Ajax pulls off an upset Tuesday at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu stadium or if Ramos finds himself unable to play in the first leg of the quarter-finals,’ he told Algemeen Dagblad.
