West Brom finding Moore search tricky

James Shan is expected to take charge of West Brom’s clash with Brentford on Saturday as the club struggle to find the successor to Darren Moore.

First-team coach Shan was handed the reins following Moore’s sacking last weekend and guided the Baggies to a much-needed 3-0 win over Swansea City on Wednesday evening, a result which keeps them fourth in the Championship table.

After the game, the 40-year-old said he was unsure whether he would stay in the dugout for the trip to Griffin Park on Saturday but it appears the club are likely to stick with him.

The West Brom board are reportedly finding it tougher than expected to appoint Moore’s replacement and want to give themselves next week’s international break to consider their options.

Former Watford and Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic is the favourite to takeover but links to ex-Huddersfield coach David Wagner and Preston manager Alex Neil have been dismissed.
