QPR will provide a tough test – Adkins
Nigel Adkins has warned his Hull side to prepare themselves for a difficult afternoon when QPR visit on Saturday.
Hull have lost their last two matches – going down to Nottingham Forest and Norwich City – but the Tigers’ play-off chances are not over yet with just six points to Derby County in sixth.
The hosts welcome an out-of-form QPR side, which lost 2-1 to relegation-threatened Rotherham United on Wednesday, to the KCOM Stadium and Steve McClaren’s men will be eager to put an end to their three-game winless run.
Adkins knows Saturday’s contest will be a tough one but he is hoping Hull’s impressive home form, which has seen them go nine games unbeaten, will be enough to see them through.
‘Our home form has been excellent, so we have to keep fighting and keep going all the way to give the supporters something to enjoy without the fear of the relegation battle that we were in last season,’ he told the club’s official website.
‘It’ll be a tough game against QPR and they had a disappointing result in midweek losing in the last minute at home to Rotherham United.
They still need some more points to make sure that they avoid the relegation battle.
‘We know it will be a challenging game and they’ll be looking to win it.’
