Fab explains Monaco move
Cesc Fabregas has admitted the arrival of Jorginho at Chelsea was a big reason for his switch to Monaco in January.
The Spain international called time on his four-and-a-half-year stint in west London to make the move to the Principality, who currently find themselves down in 17th place in the Ligue 1 table.
Speaking about his decision to leave the Blues for Monaco, the 31-year-old has revealed he found it tough to dislodge manager Maurizio Sarri’s favourite Jorginho from the side.
‘I was at Chelsea and I could have renewed my contract to stay there,’ he said.
‘A new coach came and he came with a player that, for him, was like his son.
‘For me it was difficult to play every single game – this is what I want to do.
I love football.
When I played for Chelsea, I’m happy [But] it was impossible to play every match – for whatever reason it was.’
