Leipzig hope for Werner bidding war
RB Leipzig hope to receive a fee in the region of 50million euros for Timo Werner this summer after accepting he’s likely to leave.
Werner has been a key figure for Leipzig since arriving for a then club-record 10m euros in the summer of 2016.
The 23-year-old striker has 48 goals in 89 Bundesliga appearances and has established himself as a regular for Germany, but will enter the final year of his contract when the campaign comes to a close.
Leipzig had been keen to extend Werner’s deal but they have been unable to convince him to sign fresh terms and are now ready to cash in.
The Bundesliga club will reportedly demand a fee of at least 46m euros despite his contract situation, with Leipzig hoping to spark a bidding war as Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are all understood to be keen on the forward.
