Napoli character delights Ancelotti after Chievo win
Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti hailed the character of his players as they picked up a 3-1 win over Chievo in Verona on Sunday.
Ancelotti demanded a response to the Europa League defeat against Arsenal last Thursday, and he got one as his side beat strugglers Chievo in fine style as Kalidou Koulibaly scored his first two goals of the season, while Arkadiusz Milik got the third.
Despite the fact Napoli have the return leg against Arsenal this week, Ancelotti named his strongest side and dismissed suggestions they are tired and in need of a rest.
‘It was a good show of our character,’ Ancelotti told reporters.
‘We insisted on those who had already played [on Thursday] and didn’t make many changes.
‘Whoever says that this team has physical problems is living in another world.
The team is doing well physically, the problems we had in recent matches hasn’t been related to our condition.
‘Some games just aren’t read well, that’s it.’
