Brendan Rodgers wants his Leicester side to find a way of creating more opportunities for forward Jamie Vardy.

Former England international Vardy is the Foxes leading marksman this season, finding the back of the net 15 times in the Premier League to date.

The 32-year-old has particularly impressed following Rodgers’ appointment as manager in February, netting six goals in six appearances, but he was limited to just one chance during the Foxes’ 1-0 home defeat to Newcastle on Friday night.

The Magpies sat deep during that match and nullified the space Leicester had to play in, while it also meant there was no room in behind for Vardy to utilise his pace.

Rodgers admits they struggled to get Vardy involved in Friday’s game and he is keen to find some solutions so they can get the best out of the former Fleetwood star no matter how the opposition sets up.

‘When they sit in deep, there’s no space and he (Vardy) then relies on the other players in those individual moments to feed him a pass or a cross,’ Rodgers was quoted as saying by the Leicester Mercury.

These are the games that will take place if you’re a good side – teams will deny the space.

‘In time we’ll find the solutions.’
