Arfield expecting Rangers to compete in 2020
Rangers star Scott Arfield believes he can help the club win some silverware in the coming years under boss Steven Gerrard.
The former Burnley man was the first player to move north of the border after Gerrard took charge last summer.
Despite showing glimpses of real quality, the Gers look set to miss out on every trophy this year, with Celtic set to rule again.
Rangers lost out in the Europa League during the group stage, while Aberdeen dumped them out of both Cup competitions.
Although there have been several setbacks, Arfield is confident his team can soon be competing for honours.
‘The fact of the matter is we came away with no trophies this season, which is a disappointment for this club,’ Arfield said.
‘When you come through these doors you need to win trophies and that’s how you’re going to be judged.
‘I’ve got a four-year contract, three left after this, and people can judge me at the end of that, but I know I’ll have some trophies.’
