Warnock admits it is do or die for Bluebirds
Cardiff boss Neil Warnock admits his side have reached the point of no return as they prepare to face Brighton tonight.
Defeat at the Amex Stadium would leave the Bluebirds eight points adrift of safety and seemingly doomed to an instant return to the Championship.
Cardiff host title-chasing Liverpool on Sunday, before a trip to already-relegated Fulham, who beat Everton at the weekend.
After that they host Crystal Palace before making a final-day trip to Manchester United, so it is no surprise to hear Warnock suggesting tonight’s clash is do or die.
Asked if Brighton was the point of no return after Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Burnley, Warnock replied: ‘Yes I think you can say that.
I thought we had to beat Burnley and Brighton if I am honest, so we are already one down.
‘So it becomes even more important for both teams.
I think they must feel the same.
I thought we were a little bit apprehensive with the occasion (at Burnley), and the occasion at Brighton is going to be even bigger.
‘ The pressure is also on Brighton, who know the lead will be cut to just two points if Cardiff can somehow muster a win.
