Blues will battle hard for Euro spot – Silva
Despite insisting his focus is on individual games, Marco Silva says Everton will fight to the end in the battle to qualify for the Europa League.
Seventh place may well be good enough to qualify for Europe and the Blues are two points and two places behind Wolves, who currently hold that spot after their 3-1 win over Arsenal on Wednesday.
With three games to go, Everton could still reach next season’s Europa League after what has been a topsy-turvy campaign, but that would be seen as a success if they win their last three matches.
Speaking at his latest press conference, Silva stated: ‘We have to keep fighting and proving our quality.
It’s (the Europa League) not the most important thing in this moment.
‘We have to win the matches, also.
At the end we will talk about the season and my feeling and our target.
‘ On the battle for seventh, he added: ‘It’s tight, the competition.
Some clubs are doing a really good season, also.
At the end we will see our position in the table.
‘ Everton are one of four teams – the others being Wolves, Watford and Leicester – battling it out to finish seventh, with the Toffees’ last three games at Crystal Palace this Saturday, at home to Burnley on May 3 and then they travel to Tottenham on the final day.
