Foxes boss urges Chilwell to focus
Brendan Rodgers has warned Leicester defender Ben Chilwell to ignore rumours surrounding his future.
The England international is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the division and his performances have seen him linked with a summer move.
Manchester City are understood to be big admirers of the defender as they look to find a long-term solution to their left-back problem.
Rodgers, who would undoubtedly love to have Chilwell at his disposal next term, has urged the 22-year-old to ignore the ongoing speculation.
‘It is the modern game, there is lots of speculation, but all you can do with young players is to keep them focused,’ said Rodgers.
‘They can’t control it, they just need to perform well.
‘Someone like Ben, he is one that is improving every day and getting better.
That’s all you can do as a player is look to improve, develop, make sure your performance level is consistent and you are focused.
‘All the speculation you can’t control that.
The job is to keep players focused and when they go away – some with the international teams – do the best they can, enjoy a break, but come back ready and that is what we will prepare for.’
