James Coppinger has signed a new contract to keep him at Doncaster for a 16th season.

The midfielder made his debut for the club in 2004, after signing from Exeter for 30,000, and has been a fixture in the side ever since.

He made his 600th Rovers appearance in December’s draw with Oxford.

A statement on the club’s website read: ‘James Coppinger has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal which will keep him at Rovers until 2020.

‘The 38-year-old has played more than 600 times for Rovers across all three EFL divisions and has shared the pitch with over 220 people he has called team-mates.’
