Fulham to rival Owls for Hector
Sheffield Wednesday want to keep hold of loan star Michael Hector but Championship-bound Fulham are also said to be keen.
The defender has been on Chelsea’s books since 2015 but has yet to feature in a game for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
The 26-year-old spent time on loan at the likes of Reading, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hull City before penning a season-long loan deal with the Owls last summer.
He enjoyed an excellent campaign for the Hillsborough outfit, who ended up 12th in the Championship table, 12 points adrift of the play-off places.
He was named as Wednesday’s Player of the Year and made it clear he wants to return to South Yorkshire next term by tweeting: ‘I’ve enjoyed my time here at Sheffield.
Hopefully something gets sorted.
‘ However, the Cottagers have also been linked with a player who will fall out of contract at Chelsea in the summer of 2020.
