PSV boss Mark van Bommel says Ajax are still favourites to win the title but stressed his side will not give up.

The two sides are level on 80 points with two games remaining but Ajax lead the way thanks to a superior goal difference.

The Amsterdam side suffered Champions League heartache in midweek as they let a 3-0 lead over Spurs slip away and were eliminated on away goals.

Van Bommel says the manner of the defeat will ‘undoubtedly’ affect the Ajax players, and has urged his side to continue their push for the Eredivisie trophy.

PSV travel to AZ Alkmaar on Sunday and Van Bommel expects a stern test but he is confident they can secure all three points.

‘We will focus on our games and fight till the end to win a trophy,’ he told reporters on Friday.

‘AZ are a good side and their attacks are generated with creativity.

We have to be aware of their attacking strength and make sure we’re well prepared.

‘ PSV complete the campaign with a home game against Heracles.
