Liverpool must not stand still – Klopp

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says the club must continue to build if they are to sustain their challenge for honours in the future.

Klopp’s Reds side could pick up their first ever Premier League crown on Sunday when they take on Wolves at Anfield, if they better Manchester City’s result at Brighton.

That would be a perfect end to a remarkable week which has also seen them come back from three down against Barcelona to reach the Champions League final.

Klopp, however, knows they cannot stand still as their rivals will be desperate to close the gap next season.

‘What can we say about City? They will probably not be worse next year, that’s clear, and we will not be worse but the others will all strike back,’ said Klopp.

‘The main difference between us, City and the other four teams was not the quality really, it’s the consistency.

‘Consistency is something you can work on and the quality will increase at the other clubs, that is how it is.

‘We have to really make sure that we stay on track and do the right things again and again, and we will have very positive future.’
