Celtic job interesting Bilic
According to reports, former West Ham coach Slaven Bilic is interested in becoming the next Celtic boss ahead of next season.
The Croatian is currently out of work after being sacked by Saudi side Al-Ittihad back in February.
Bilic continues to be linked with a number of English clubs but he is hoping to speak to Celtic chiefs, while the vacant Scotland job has also taken his fancy.
The 50-year-old would reportedly favour a club move and he is hoping to move to Celtic Park, with Neil Lennon’s future up in the air.
Celtic‘s board are still to finalise a deal with Lennon and reports with The Herald claim Bilic is hoping to get the job.
A source close to Bilic said: ‘Slaven is very interested in the Celtic job.
It is a massive club with great history and emotion.
‘He knows all about the club’s history and the size of their fan base.
He shares their energy and passion and thinks it would be a good move for him.
‘They are a very popular club in Croatia.
Scotland, Ireland and Croatia are very similar with similar size populations and very proud people who share the same values.
‘Celtic have been very successful and should look to expand that success.
Slaven would be good for them and help them improve further.’
