Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is a doubt for Barcelona’s Copa del Rey final against Valencia after picking up a knee injury.

The Catalan giants took to Twitter to confirm that the 25-year-old Germany international has suffered a problem and are unaware of when he might be available again.

The tweet read: ‘Ter Stegen is having trouble with his right knee.

He is out of action and his availability will depend on how things develop.

‘ It means second-choice custodian Jasper Cillessen will step up for the final La Liga game of the season against Eibar this weekend and the Spanish domestic cup final against Valencia in Sevilla on May 25.

The 30-year-old Dutch international, who has been linked with a summer move to Benfica, had played in all of last season’s Copa del Rey matches and featured again for Barca this season until Ter Stegen was brought in for the two-legged semi-final win over rivals Real Madrid.
