Cottagers starlet Sessegnon sets sights on Spurs switch
Ryan Sessegnon would prefer a move to Tottenham over Manchester United if he leaves Fulham, as expected, this summer.
The England Under-21 international, who will celebrate his 19th birthday on Saturday, has been heavily linked with a move away from Craven Cottage this summer following the Londoners’ relegation back to the Championship after just one season in the Premier League.
Sessegnon scored two goals and made six assists in 35 top-flight games and has been linked with a move to the likes of Spurs, United, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus ahead of the transfer window.
Fulham boss Scott Parker admitted that it will be difficult to keep a player of Sessegnon’s quality for next season’s return to the Championship with the Cottagers hoping to secure a huge £40million for his signature.
None of the potential suitors are likely to match that valuation, but reports claim Spurs would go as high as £25m for Sessegnon and that would be his preferred destination.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have Champions League football secured for next season and it would allow him to continue living in London.
And, with the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Harry Winks at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it could also boost Sessegnon’s hopes of securing a call-up to the England senior squad.
