Deulofeu to recover from dead leg for Hornets’ FA Cup final bid
Gerard Deulofeu is poised to recover from a dead leg in time for Watford’s FA Cup final clash against Manchester City on Saturday.
The 25-year-old forward was forced off an hour into last Sunday’s game against West Ham at Vicarage Road as the Hornets ended their Premier League campaign on the end of a disappointing 4-1 defeat.
Deulofeu subsequently sat out training on Wednesday to spark fears that he might not be ready to feature in boss Javi Gracia’s plans at Wembley this weekend.
But reports emanating from the club suggest that the Spaniard will be fit and ready to face Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions.
The news will be a huge boost to Gracia given that Deulofeu came off the bench to score two goals in the come-from-behind 3-2 semi-final win against Wolves.
He also finished the season as Watford’s top-scorer with 12 goals and is in a rich run of form with three goals in the side’s final five matches of the campaign.
